General
Description:
A regenerative burner system consists of a preheated air burner coupled with a
heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is an insulated container of refractory shapes
which store heat, and the burner doubles as the tube exhaust. The regenerator
is "charged" by passing exhaust gases through it. When it is saturated
with heat, exhaust gases are shut off and combustion air is blown through it,
preheating the air, which mixes with gas in the burner, heating the tube. Because
of the alternating firing / heat storage cycles, regenerative burners must be
installed in pairs. These systems produce extremely high combustion air temperatures
(within 300 - 400°F of tube temperature) and high thermal efficiencies.
Principal
Applications: Continuous Enameling Furnaces and Continuous Steel Heat
