Intoduction

The majority of environmental issues involving natural gas equipment are related to air pollution regulations. Natural gas is generally the cleanest burning of all the fossil fuels. However, this does not exempt natural gas combustion equipment from environmental regulations and pollution control devices.

Environmental regulations also affect water usage and discharge, solid waste, and hazardous waste at industrial customers as well. However these regulations are not usually directly related to natural gas equipment and are outside the scope of this module.
