Natural Gas: Ported Tile Heaters

The heart of the ported tile heater is at the surface – a perforated ceramic tile (or ported grid) through which the gas-air mixture passes and combusts.

A general purpose heater, the ported tile type provides moderate heat flux density and good temperature uniformity. Surface temperatures can range from 1650 to 1700°F.

How It Works:

  1. Natural gas and air mixture pass through a valve
  2. Mixture jets ignite at the surface of the tile, forming a thin flame sheet
  3. Mixture burns as a series of discrete flames, heating tile to incandescence

Food Processing, Textiles
